We have decades of executive and governance level experience managing compliance, breach and reporting obligations in human services, communities, conflict and humanitarian contexts, involving major crises, critical incidents and efforts aimed at building quality, safety and insight. We support boards, directors, c-suite and executives to understand, align and deliver together. Facilitating group discussion, workshops, mediation and planning. Executive teams and c-suite leaders appreciate our sensitivity to the Board/executive relationship and governance groups value being able to provide knowledgeable and timely support for executive groups facing unusual and exceptional circumstances.
Unexpected and unplanned events and absences can leave governance groups vulnerable and in need of assurance. Our work is designed to help with that.
Morgain Group was established to support leaders dealing with challenging roles, expectations and situations. We are committed to supporting effective governance practice where executives and boards have sound insight, knowledge and awareness of matters within their scope of responsibility.
How we can help
Assurance and practical steps for a board when its CEO or a senior executive is suddenly unavailable
Helping directors understand their obligations: duty of care, safeguarding, clinical and service governance, and regulatory reporting
Testing whether the board has genuine line of sight to risk, quality and safety, not just more reports
Advice when a breach, notifiable incident, complaint or regulatory inquiry lands
Board performance reviews and governance health checks
Strengthening the board and CEO relationship, including fair CEO performance and KPI frameworks
Designing or refreshing committees, such as quality and safety, risk, or people and culture
Board induction and development sessions grounded in contemporary practice
What this can look like
A board learns late on a Friday that its CEO will be on extended leave, effective immediately. We work with the chair through the first 72 hours: who needs to know, what the regulator expects, interim arrangements, and how to steady staff on Monday morning.
A quality and safety committee receives a thick pack of data every month, yet isn’t confident it is seeing what matters. We review the reporting, talk with committee members and executives, and recommend a leaner set of indicators, alongside a way of hearing directly from the people who use the service.
A board wants a fair, well-structured way to set and review its new CEO’s KPIs. We facilitate the conversation, draft the framework and help both parties agree how progress will be discussed, well before anyone is anxious about it.
