Sometimes that load exceeds what can reasonably be held, analysed and acted upon by one person or group. Especially in times of change or crisis. Morgain Group offers tailored support for these periods. We ‘back in’ highly skilled, hardworking people, doing exceptional things.
Our governance and regulatory experience means we help keep perspective and focus when the demands and expectations are considerable and the terrain unknown. Typically, leaders, boards and colleagues employ us to ensure that leaders themselves are not left to address difficult ethical, practical and sensitive issues and outcomes, alone.
We are trauma-informed, sensitive to political nuance and adept facilitators accustomed to complex and charged environments.
How we can help
Standing alongside a chief executive through a critical incident, crisis or period of intense public or regulatory scrutiny
A confidential thinking partner for leaders facing a hard ethical, people or safety decision
Surge or interim support when a key executive is unexpectedly absent or departs
Helping a new CEO through their first months, including building a sound relationship with the board
Holding an executive team steady through restructure, merger, loss of funding or the closure of a service
Preparing for difficult conversations with regulators, funders, staff, families, community or media
Structured debriefing after a serious event, so that learning is captured and people are cared for
What this can look like
After a serious incident in a residential service, the CEO is managing families, staff, the regulator and the board all at once. We sit alongside her for six weeks: a standing Monday check-in, help sequencing decisions, and a sounding board before each board update. The load is still real, but she isn’t carrying it alone.
A newly appointed CEO inherits a strained relationship between board and executive. We meet fortnightly through her first six months, helping her read the dynamics, set expectations early and build trust in both directions.
An executive director has to tell a long-standing team that their program won’ be refunded. We help plan the conversation, the timing and the support around it, so the news is delivered honestly and with care.
